Favorite Time of Year???
It still doesn't feel like the holidays to me. Our Christmas tree is up and our holiday decorations are up, but something is still missing. I am listening to Christmas music day in and day out, yet something doesn't feel right. Maybe it's because we are pretty much alone all of the time. My Mom visits most weekends, but for the most part it's just baby girl and I. Maybe it will change the closer it gets to Christmas, it is the first week of December after all. This past Tuesday we went to the open air ice skating rink at the Pioneer Pavilion in Puyallup. DD had a blast. She was on the ice for nearly 2 1/2 hours! She was such a doll. The lady volunteering there came up to me and says "I have been watching her skate, and she is such a joy to watch and really good on the ice"! It was really cute and I was happy to see her having so much fun. Can't wait for Santa to bring pretty, pink, ice skates for her this year! She's going to be so excited! Now I dread the commercials on tv around this time. I swear every new commercial increases the Christmas list! Well though it doesn't feel very Christmasy to me...I have been planning a holiday activity for each week. Yesterday we watched Arthur Christmas. It was a really cute movie. Then we hit the mall and she played at the indoor park for awhile. After that a quick dinner and she was out before we made it home! My friend bought tickets for me to attend the Nutcracker next weekend. I am really excited. It will be my first time. I wanted to take Imaiya to a show, but I think it's a bit too long for her to sit through. Maybe next year. There was a Nutcracker brunch for children at McCaw Hall, but I'm on such a tight budget this year I couldn't shell out $150 for it. We will do other exciting things!
